cw-1.jpgA member of the Yaqui people of southern Arizona, Gabriel Ayala is at the forefront of a NEW GENERATION OF NATIVE AMERICAN ARTISTS making a career performing classical music. He will be performing for the first time at the Presidio San Agustin.  THIS BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE VENUE EXOKES THE CHARACTER OF EARLY TUCSON and will transport you back in time.

ENJOY THE HAUNTING AND RESONANT SOUNDS OF GABRIEL AYALA SURROUNDED BY THE 20 FOOT ADOBE WALLS OF THE PRESIDIO SAN AGUSTIN.

Ayala performs regularly throughout the United States. He was a featured artist at President Barack Obama's Inaugural Ball and played for Pope Benedict  XVI at the canonization of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha.  He has also performed at  the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Museum for the American Indian, and Oscar Meyer Theater in Madison, Wisconsin. He has shared the stage with living legends including the Four Tops, the Temptations and Richie Havens.

Gabriel has been breaking stereotypes amongst Native and Non-Native people by performing classical, jazz, flamenco, and new compositions of his own which he highlighted on his 2010 release of “Remembrance”.

TUCSON'S OWN ADARA RAE TO OPEN:
Adara Rae is a local singer/songwriter with a folk-pop feel. This young artist captures a wide variety of audiences with her original sound and memorable hooks. Playing within the Tucson music scene as a solo artist as well as with her group as "Adara Rae & The Homewreckers", Adara has built a following of music lovers both young and old. At a young age she has played in multiple local festivals and events as well as the world-renowned South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin, Texas.

Tucson’s original Presidio was built in 1775 and housed the early inhabitants of Tucson through the mid-1800’s. A portion of the structure has been reconstructed on the original site as a museum.
